Our companion care service, Our Senior Friends™, is designed to make life easier for our patients, but the main goal of this service is to eliminate loneliness and isolation.
In-Home Companion Care is an excellent option for seniors who live alone or are far away from family members. Beaches Home Care offers seniors companionship, laughter, and security. Companion Care services can assist seniors who are losing energy, motivation, or physical well-being.
Our Senior Friends™ are caring sitters who can help with mobility, hobbies, and attending social events. They can also simply relax and converse with your loved one.
At Beaches Home Care we will take the time to “get to know your loved one” and offer a Senior Friend™ to match.
Some of the ways we offer companionship:
- Conversation and Company - Having a visitor every now and then can make all the difference to someone who is living alone or caring for an ailing spouse. Beaches Home Care takes pride in making your loved ones eager to interact with them, whether it's over a meal or just a simple conversation.
- Meal Assistance - Many seniors neglect getting adequate nutrition that they require simply because they don’t want to bother with daily meal preparations and hate to clean up afterward.
- Shopping, Errands and Transportation - Our Senior Friends would be happy to shop for groceries, pick up prescriptions, or deliver dry cleaning if that is what our clients desire. If our clients rather just have us drive them to these or other destinations, so they can do those tasks themselves.
- Transportation and Doctors Visits - If you or your loved one can no longer drive, getting them to the doctor and other medical appointments can be quite challenging. Our Senior Friends will assist in helping them remain in touch with their favorite health care team.
- Recreational Activities - Our Senior Friends are highly engaged and vested in our client’s well-being and are more than happy to take them to or personally engage in their favorite pasttime activities. While some clients may look forward to being taken to bingo night, a concert, or a club meeting, some may prefer to stay in for the night and play a game of cards or a board game with our Senior Friends.
- Mail & Phone Call Organization - They can set up reminders to pay their regular bills to ensure mail is collected on time and delivered packages do not remain visible from the outside. Upon direction from our clients, caregivers can even open the mail and read it to them if that’s what they desire. Their level of involvement, if required, is determined by the client.

What is an HHA/CNA?
HHA stands for Home Health Aide. They have received training from an accredited institute reviewing many of the skills required to safely care for an individual. CNA stands for Certified Nursing Aide. CNA’s receive training that review the skills necessary to safely care for an individual but are also state certified. The certification that Certified Nurses Aides have is a state certification and is important largely for state funded programs such as Medicare and Medicaid. Privately HHA’s and CNA’s function interchangeably. Both HHA’s & CNA’s are referred to as caregivers.
Are your caregivers bonded?
Yes, Beaches Home Care has a policy through Lloyds of London to bond all caregivers.
Are your services covered by MediCare?
Is there a minimum number of hours?
Beaches Home has a minimum of 4 hours for companion care and 6 hours for CNA’s .
Am I locked into a contract?
No, you are not locked into a contract. We have a service agreement outlining payment terms, and details of services, but you may cancel anytime with just six hours’ notice.
Do you accept Long Term Care Insurance Policies?
Because we are a state licensed agency, we are able work together with any insurance company to complete the documentation they require and provide them with the paperwork necessary to process your claim. Every Long-Term Care Insurance Policy is different and may have specific requirements that must be met before they will pay for care.
